When Carlos Delgado was the only serious injury of the season and they believed that everyone would be returning sometime during the season, Audrey Huff was a name regularly linked to the Mets.
But Huff ended up being traded to the Tigers, the Mets need a short time 1B and while they'd prefer a right handed platoon partner, at the right price Huff could be a solid answer.
The Tigers have economic issues and despite trading for the veteran 1B they have decided not to pursue him.
